[Dell] compat-libstdc++-33 and zlib for OME (System Update)

<테스트 환경>
OS : CentOS 6.3 x64   / CentOS 5.8 x64
OMSA : 7.1 (최신)



아래 두 파일을 Redhat Linux로 인식하기 위해 아래와 같이 수정해줍니다.
**CentOS 6.x도 아래 RHEL 5.x로 입력 후 테스트 함

# vi /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.0 (Tikanga)
#CentOS release 5.8 (Final)


# vi /etc/issue

Kernel \r on an \m



OMSA 설치하고 snmpd.conf 설정하고 OME에 Inventory Collect Agent 가 나타나지 않는다면 아래와 같이 설치/설정 하기 바람.

# yum install srvadmin-cm (Collect Manager?) 설치     <= i686 으로 설치됨

# /opt/dell/srvadmin/sbin/invcol 실행 후 아래와 같이 나온다면...
libstdc++.so.5 is required to run the Inventory Collector.

# yum install compat-libstdc++-33.i686 설치

아래는 OME에서 System Update 시 필요한 패키지이며 미리 설치 요망!
# yum install libstdc++.i686 libxml2.i686


(테스트)
# invcol
./invcol: error while loading shared libraries: libz.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

# yum install zlib.i686 zlib-devel.i686 설치

# invcol
아무런 error 표시 안된다면 O.K

# /opt/dell/srvadmin/sbin/srvadmin-services.sh restart

[HP] HP-UX GS80 log 분석 방법(binary.errorlog)

우선, 아래 ftp 사이트에서 tool을 다운받아 설치한다.

HP Tru64에서 덤프 뜬 binary.errorlog 파일을 C:\(임시로)에 복사 후

c:\> wsea analyze input binary.errlog outtext result.txt

result.txt(임시) 파일을 열어보면 Problem Found 를 찾을 수 있다.

[CentOS6] Sendmail (smtp) + Dovecot (pop3) 설치 구성

<설치 환경>

CentOS 6.3 x64
sendmail 8.14.408.el6
dovecot 2.0.9-2.el6_1.1      <= centos 5.x 는 아래 1번 링크에 dovecot 참고



1. sendmail 설치

2. dovecot (pop3) 설치       <= centos 6.x 설치 시

#yum install dovecot


3. dovecot 환경설정

#vi /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf

Dell R620, R720 서버에 windows 2003 server 설치 방법

Dell R720xd 서버에 windows 2003 server standard x86을 설치하는데 H710p RAID Controller 의 드라이버를 Dell에서 공식적으로 지원하지 않기에(dell.com 사이트에도 없음) lsi 사이트에서 같은 칩셋 드라이버를 찾아 OS 설치 중에 F6키를 눌러 floppy 를 이용하여 설치가 가능하다.

하지만 12G 서버부터는 OS 설치 시 BIOS (F2 key) -> System BIOS -> SATA setting : AHCI 를 ATA mode로 변경 저장 후 OS를 설치해야만 한다.

OS는 설치가 잘 되었으나 부팅 중에 Blue Screen 뜨고 자동 reboot 이 되어 실패하였다.
원인을 찾고 있는데 잘 모르겠다...ㅠ.ㅠ

Dell Precision T3600 워크스테이션 - PCI 직렬 포트 드라이버

2012년 워크스테이션 12G 모델 T3600

윈도우 XP 사용자들이라면 OS 설치가 안되는 문제에 직면하게 된다.
기본적으로 꽂혀있는 H310 Controller 드라이버가 XP용은 없을 뿐더러 메인보드에 SATA 포트에 HDD를 직접 연결 후 XP를 설치해야 된다.
또한 XP 설치 완료 후 2개의 드라이버가 잡히지 않는데 하나는 H310 Controller와 다른 하나는 PCI 직렬 포트이다.
H310은 windows 7 용 드라이버로 설치하고

PCI 직렬 포트는 아래 드라이버로 설치하면 잡힌다.

- BBWC (Battery Backed Write Cache) :
  전원이 나갔을 때 BBU(Battery)의 전원으로 캐시메모리(DRAM)의 정보를 유지하기 때문에 BBU의 전원이 방전되기 전에 전원 연결이 다시 되지 않으면 Data loss 가 발생한다.

- FBWC (Flash Backed Write Cache) :
 전원이 나가면 Power Cap 의 전원으로 캐시메모리(DRAM)의 데이터를 내장된 플래시 메모리에 저장하며 데이터 유지를 위한 더이상의 전력이 필요하지 않다.(플래시 메모리에 저장) 전원이 연결되면 플래시 메모리의 데이터를 다시 캐시메모리로 복사하여 데이터를 복구한다. BBWC의 장점을 보완한 기술로 BBU 교체가 필요없어 유지보수에 대한 비용 발생하지 않는다.

  NVC 모듈을 사용하면 컨트롤러 캐쉬 데이터를 배터리 백업이 제공해줄 수 있는 24시간보다 장기간 영구적으로 저장할 수 있습니다 . 컨트롤러가 정전 발생시 또는 부적절한 시스템 종료 중 캐쉬 메모리에 데이터를 포함 하고 있는 경우 , 전원이 복원되고 시스템이 부팅될 때까지 배터리에 있는 소량의 전원을 사용하여 남아 있는 비휘발성 플래시 저장소로 캐쉬 데이터 를 이동시킵니다 .
